sadly my father passed away ion july 28th at willow wood hospice after a very difficult 6 months, it was the first time i have ever witnessed the rapid deterioration (beginning mid may time) of a once perfectly healthy body. The type my father had was a very aggressive strain known as Adenocarcinoma which originally started out as being present in a lump at the bottom of his esophagus, near to the top of his stomach opening. The first consultation at hospital took far longer than it should have (may), given that he went straight to the doctors in febuary when he very first noticed that he could not pass down food in his esophagus quite as easily/normally as before. In the end the cancerous cells had spread to his stomach and liver and he/we all knew the eventuality. The Macmillan nurse who did the breaking of the news to him that it was terminal and to us all was professional in the approach of telling such finality. The next day it suddenly hit him full on when visiting hours came, to know that one day you are told you are going to die from such a horrid disease must be none the less than utterly terrifying. It was and will be one of thee most heartbreaking memory's for family and me. sure its going to take its time for us all to come to some terms/acceptance, but everyone is different in how they grieve. Their is no magic wand that can make it all easier, some days i dearly wish their was.
time is a healer as so many say.
At some soon point i plan to put up work based on Bodnant Garden near Tal-y-Cafn, in the county borough of Conwy, Wales. This was produced before my father/family ever knew he had cancer, for me it will always be a very personal memory/dedication to him as it was one of his final outings when he felt physically healthy and upbeat in mind.
By some luck i managed to also find my fathers old vintage Ilford sportsman rangefinder, spring 1960. It works perfect, along with old family slides.
I like to thank back all the people who +fav my work, due to all the +favs i get i'm not always able to do so. So here's a more permanent note:
thank you all for +faving and i'm very grateful for you taking time to look
